About Us

We Are a 501(c)3 Non-profit Organization

The Senior Center of Elk Grove is one of only four self funded non-profit Senior Centers in California.  We are not run by the City, County or Recreation Department as most Centers are.  We maintain complete control over our programs and services , so we may offer relevant and needed service for our seniors.

We Are a 50 and Better Activity Center

The Senior Center of Elk Grove believes that healthy, happy seniors are vital to our community.  Staying fit and active helps seniors maintain their independent, vibrant lifestyles.

Our travel program is a safe and engaging way for the seniors to visit destinations both near and far. Take a trip to a near by casino, behold the beauty of the Presidio in San Francisco, catch a play or musical such as Million Dollar Quartet and live the excitement of Safari West. We also offer trips across the U.S.  and the world all at a very reasonable price.

Salad Bar

Very reasonable pricing - $3.50 for In-House and $4.00 for To-Go salads.

Volunteers & Volunteer Opportunities

The Senior Center of Elk Grove is honored to have over 100 volunteers who help at the Center throughout the year.  The volunteers, including the Board of Directors, give of their talents and time to the Center in many ways.

Volunteer applications are always welcome.  Volunteers are vetted and fingerprinted to ensure the Center remains a safe and healthy place for all who enter.  Opportunities include: Front Desk, Cafe, Welcome Desk, Travel, Crafters, Knit and Crocheters, Special Events crews, Instructors and Newsletter crew.

While the Senior Center employs two full and two part-time employees, the volunteers are the heart and soul of our organizations and we are truly grateful for each and every one.
